available for entering freshmen. Each year
The Randall Scholarships provide five scholarships ranging from $4700-6000, renewable annually for up to four years for those students who meet the scholarship guidelines. Candidates are considered on the basis of scholastic achievement, leadership activities, and potential for growth at Dakota Wesleyan. Students with a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.80 based on a 4.0 scale and a composite score of 28 or more on the ACT are encouraged to apply. Candidates must submit a personal letter of application by mid-January, and Scholarship Day attendance is required.
Other Scholarships
The Trustee Scholarship, $4,600-$5,500, will be awarded to fifteen students who have a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a composite score of 25 or more on the ACT. The Trustee Scholarship is a renewable scholarship, up to four years, for those students who meet the scholarship guidelines. Candidates are encouraged to make application by mid-January and are required to attend Scholarship Day.
The Presidential Scholarship, $3,100-$4,700, will be awarded to students who have a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a composite score of 21 or more on the ACT. The Presidential Scholarship is a renewable scholarship, up to four years, for those students who meet the scholarship guidelines. Candidates are encouraged to make application and are invited to attend Scholarship Day.
The Tiger Award, $1,500-$3,100, will be awarded to students who have a high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a composite score of 18 or more on the ACT. The Tiger Award is a renewable award, up to four years, for those students who meet the award guidelines. Application and campus visit are required prior to the award.
The Transfer Award, $500-2000, will be awarded to students who have a college cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. This is a renewable award, up to four years, for those students who meet the award guidelines. Application and campus visit are required prior to the award.
The Returning Adult Student Award, $500-4,000, will be based on reference letters, resume, letter of application, and academic evidence of success. This award is renewable, up to four years, for those students who meet the award guidelines. Application and campus visit are required.
The Hatterscheidt
Scholarship (for South Dakota
students) is another scholarship available for entering freshmen at Dakota
Wesleyan University. Students must have financial need and must have a 3.0 grade
point average based on a 4.0 scale. The Hatterscheidt
application can be obtained through Dakota Wesleyan’s Financial Aid Office.
Athletic Award, Determined by the coach of each individual sport.
